No valid ID, no test: your essential WORD theory-test checklist
A phone screenshot and booking email are not enough. Check what to bring to Poland's theory test and avoid last-minute stress.
For Poland's theory test, the essential item is a valid document that allows WORD staff to confirm your identity. A photograph or scan on your phone—and your PKK number alone—are not enough.
The essential item: valid identification
WORD checks identity before the test begins. Bring a document accepted by the centre, such as a valid national identity card or passport. Foreign nationals may use one of the documents listed in the examination rules and the centre's guidance, including an appropriate Polish foreigner's identity document.
If you are unsure about a particular document, ask the centre before your appointment. Do not assume a student card, bank card or digital photograph will be accepted.
Useful extras
- confirmation of the time and exact venue,
- proof of payment, especially after a recent bank transfer,
- glasses or contact lenses required by your medical restriction,
- booking details available somewhere other than only on your phone,
- enough time to find the correct room.
Your PKK is needed for booking, but the profile should already be available in the system on test day. Keeping the number handy can help if a problem occurs, but it does not replace identification.
What you do not need
You do not need your own computer, notes or course materials. The test uses a WORD computer station. Put your phone and belongings away as instructed by staff.
A calm examination-day plan
- Check the document's expiry date the day before.
- Verify the exact examination venue, not only the WORD name.
- Arrive 15–20 minutes early.
- Report any incorrect personal data displayed on screen immediately.
- Use the tutorial stage to understand the controls.
Final check before leaving home
Do you have valid ID and know the address, time and selected language? Then paperwork should not cost you the attempt. The rest depends on preparation.
Complete one last full mock test, but do not spend the evening cramming randomly. Rest and careful reading are more useful on the day.
