How can you recognise this group?
Most are triangular, with a red border and a hazard symbol on a light background. A-7, give way, is distinguished by its inverted triangle.
How do they work on the road?
A warning sign does not impose one speed for every situation. It requires you to identify the hazard, pay extra attention and adapt your driving so that you can react safely.
- Identify the type of hazard and the place covered by the warning.
- Consider any plate specifying distance, section length or the course of the hazard.
- Remain especially alert until you have safely passed the hazard.
- Remember that A-7 also regulates right of way.

Legal basis for Polish road signs
The meaning and scope of road signs are defined by the Polish regulation on road signs and signals. This guide also includes changes effective from 19 February 2026; always check the current status of the act in ELI for legal matters.
